Project summary

Opogo had a pressing need to replace their existing legacy e-commerce platform, we worked closely with the well-known and loved brand to strategise and implement a plan.

The business saw this project as an opportunity to reposition themselves from being predominately a dairy delivery service to much more of a mobile farmers’ market, with a heavy focus on locally-produced dairy, bakery products and more.

MintTwist engaged with Opogo through the whole design process, touching on website, user experience, branding and digital transformation.

Built using the WordPress website platform, the web project was a vital aspect of the organisation’s growth plans over the next five years.

Designing a new ecommerce website

Working closely with Opogo UK marketing team, we grasped both the objectives for the new site and what the market expectations were from an e-commerce platform.

Using the best practice within the online retail space, wireframes were produced that detailed the main user journeys, whilst also utilising the Oracle OCP platform structure – which was the chosen eCommerce platform for the project.

Branding and user journey planning

The brand was undergoing a full redesign from which the website was to take heavy influence. Part of the early design of the website was being able to incorporate the ethos of the brand onto the website, and help steer the necessary creation of digital assets.

In parallel, we work closely with the internal team on the core user journeys for the existing website and made strategic amendments based on how we wanted the new platform to enhance the experience.

The design concepts were well received and we quickly arrived at a position where we had signed off on the creative direction for the new website. From here we rolled out the designs across many of the internal page layouts.

Systems integration

With the Hybris platform performing a hefty amount of technical work, we ensured that the boundaries of the systems page structure were maintained when building the CSS and HTML.

A core deliverable was to ensure that the functionality of the Hybris platform was seamlessly integrated into the front end build with minimal amendments to the standard page templates which would allow us to deliver the whole project in an aggressive timeline.

The results

The result is a wonderful new e-commerce platform for an iconic UK brand.

With much positive feedback from the huge customer base, plans are in motion for a phase 2 of work which will include the addition of more new features to the website platform to allow users more control over their orders and scheduled deliveries.
