From the 9th of October the world’s leading technology companies will be converging on Dubai for the annual GITEX conference. Attracting well over 130,000 visitors from all over the world this year’s exhibition is expected to be the biggest in its history.

GITEX (Gulf Information Technology Exhibition) is widely recognised as the most important consumer computer and electronics trade show in the Middle East, if not the world. Drawing together ICT professionals from all over the world and 3,500 of the world’s leading companies, the anticipation surrounding this year’s event is growing rapidly. The exhibition allows for both consumers and suppliers to interact on a personal level, whilst showcasing the hottest products as well as offering the latest and most exclusive deals. Famously Microsoft launched Windows 7 to the world at the 2009 exhibition.

MintTwist, the International Digital Agency that opened up its UAE office earlier this year will be exhibiting at the event.  MintTwist are focusing on helping local businesses to leverage the growing importance of Digital Marketing for reaching more customers and increasing sales.

In the Middle East, just as in the rest of the world, the significance of digital marketing is growing at a tremendous rate. The facts speak for themselves, Facebook has some 800 million users, Twitter 200 million and LinkedIn over 100 million. The way people are using social media varies, how businesses can reach these people is the intriguing question.

How can businesses utilize digital marketing?

Letting people know about you and your business is paramount in the digital age. Studies show that the majority of people will check out a new business either via their website or social media sites before deciding to buy. Creating a strong brand image and portraying the right messages on your website is vital in winning new business.

Alexis Pratsides, director at MintTwist says “the first step is having a website that truly reflects who your company are and what you can offer. This is vital in winning the trust of new clients, putting together a cheap, badly designed website will turn customers off straightaway. At MintTwist we pride ourselves on understanding our clients and creating a website that matches their personality and is user-friendly”.

Driving customers to your site is the second important challenge to tackle. Many companies, who are proud of their products and services are simply not being found by the right people. A clear digital marketing strategy can help your customers find you.

Speaking the right language

An event like GITEX truly reflects a region as diverse as the Gulf, where speaking the right language to your customers is vital. MintTwist are specialists when it comes to multi-lingual web design and marketing. Setting up Arabic, English or French version of your site is an important factor in allowing a powerful message to be sent to all your customers.

Optimising your site is equally important as the design. A well-built site will naturally optimise your site through search engines like Google, Bing or Yahoo. In addition to this, a detailed Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) campaign will allow your new clients to find you easily in whatever language they’re searching.  If you want to be found in Arabic, we can create a tailor made Arabic SEO service specifically for your business.

By combing a well designed and built website along with effective digital marketing, business can expect to see growth in their online presence and commerce. To get the latest news on digital marketing and the latest IT innovations, take some time to visit GITEX.

MintTwist will be located in Hall 2 Stand E2-32 of the Dubai World Trade Centre throughout the whole GITEX week. Go and see them if you’re interested in a chat about…
