Client Background

Based in Nairn (Nr. Inverness), Founded in 2000 WildDay.com is now Europe’s largest online Outdoor Store. Based in the Highlands of Scotland, WildDay has an unrivalled selection of branded outdoor gear at unbeatable internet prices.

The Brief

To rebuild from scratch a bespoke e-commerce solution for WildDay.com. The system was to include product ordering, client login with full client history, complete control over the departments, categories and products, supplier ordering, full stock control, related products, best buys and more. Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) was also very high on their agenda.

The Solution

We decided to rebuild the existing database from scratch creating a far more relational structure which allowed for improvements in speed and maintenance.

The Result

A unique sustem with the front end written in .NET and the database built in SQL 2005, we delivered a system to WildDay.com that saved the business dozens of man hours per week with time saving product addition screens which create product combinations automatically (i.e. size / colour) and automatically generated supplier orders for new stock.
